AP Police has speeded up the investigation in the case of burning of files in Madanapalle sub-collector’s office which created a sensation across Andhra Pradesh. Several suspects have already been detained and interrogated by the police in this case.
Recently, the police conducted searches at the house of former minister and Punganur MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s PA. Peddireddy PA Shashikanth resides in Ayyappa Society, Hyderabad. A team of ten AP police went to Shashikant’s residence and conducted searches.
From Saturday night, searches were conducted at Shashikant’s residence till Sunday afternoon. It is known that the police seized several important documents during the searches. Key documents and files were taken to AP in a total of four boxes. Police also interrogated Shashikanth for eight hours and took him into their custody.
On the other hand, the police suspect the role of the revenue staff in the burning of files in the Madanapalle sub-collector’s office. It is reported that arrests are being made after the forensic report is received.
During the investigation, the police came to the conclusion that it was not an accident of fire. The files were burnt. Both the police and the revenue department are investigating the incident. The government has taken this incident seriously. With this, Special Chief Secretary of AP Revenue Department RP Sisodia submitted a detailed report to the government.
As the investigating officials are suspecting that former minister Peddireddy Ramachadnra Reddy likely to be the mastermind in this entire episode, they are searching on the basis of mobile signals of people closely associated with him. They came to the conclusion that the files burnt were part of a conspiracy to destroy evidence on the illegal land transactions during the YCP regime, in which Peddireddy and his close associates were believed to be main beneficiaries.
The government is also said to be getting ready to suspend some key officials involved in this incident.
