Some IAS officers who played a key role in destroying the state by implementing YCP laws against laws and regulations during the five years of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime are now in desperate to go back to the Center, fearing TDP is likely to return to power.
As most of these officers are on deputation from the Center, now seems to be in a hurry to cancel their deputation and go back to original services. They are reportedly begging the Chief Secretary to relieve them, fearing a change of government in the state would expose their irregular and corrupt practices during Jagan’s regime.
Beverages Corporation MD Vasudeva Reddy is at the top of the list of those who want to be transferred to parent companies. Finance Secretary KVV Satyanarayana is also said to be going to Delhi. It is known that Vasudeva Reddy has been making these efforts for the last 6 months.
Even after the Election Code came into force, the Election Commission shocked him by transferring him as he continued to serve Jagan. He is an Indian Railway Traffic Service Officer. When Jagan became the CM, he was brought on deputation. He was given the responsibility of vital liquor sales.
Although the period of deputation for three years has expired, they got an order from the center extending it for another three years after getting a recommendation from the higher level. Predicting Jagan’s defeat, he has been making efforts to go back to Railways. However, Jagan’s close associates try to assure him that Jagan will return back to power.
Finance Secretary Satyanarayana last week asked the Chief Secretary to relieve him. With this, CMO officials tried to pacify him stating that Jagan is coming back. It is known that he was given ‘counseling’ to stay here. Satyanarayana was the focal point of all the irregularities and anarchies in the finance department.
In these five years, contractors close to YCP have violated the FIFO and paid more than Rs. lakhs of crores of bills. Even if the general contractors who did the work in the government went to court, they were not paid the bills in full.
The Finance Secretary also played a key role in pushing the state into a financial crisis by mortgaging the government properties, diverting the treasury income and bringing debts beyond the capacity of the state.
Meanwhile, another secretary in the finance department, Gulzar, got a posting in the central services. State Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) MD VG Venkata Reddy has also been requesting his removal from that post for a long time. However, the government is continuing him in that post.
