KCR started working to refill 5 MLC posts

Friday, November 15, 2024

The Chief of BRS, KCR is a busy man in Telangana as he has to work for the party inside the state and also to look at his national aspirations to play a key role at the center. Meanwhile, he is clearing the pending works and filling the nominated posts along with the MLC seats which are about to end soon in the months of March and May.

Going into the details, the terms of three BRS MLCs who got nominated under the MLAs quota are ending in the month of March. The three MLCs Naveen Rao, Krishna Reddy, and Gangadhar Goud would conclude their seats by March end and two more MLCs nominated under the Governor’s quota – D Rajeshwar Rao and Farooq Hussein would also end in May. So, a total of five MLC seats are to be filled by the KCR which is quite a work considering the competition from other leaders and ex-MLAs like D Sravan, Swamy Goud, Bikshamaiah Goud, former Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao, etc are lobbying hard already.

However the TRS Chief has to consider many aspects like caste, region, and reservation quotas to be satisfied before allocating the MLC seats. Sources close to the Telangana CM state that KCR is keen on continuing Naveen Rao as he hails from the Velama community, Rajeshwar Rao as he is a representative of the Christian community, and Farooq Hussain to woo the Muslim community. For the remaining two MLC seats, he would work with the leaders and finalize the list by the end of this month.
