The general elections of Telangana will be held in less than a year from now and the ruling party is making sure it implements all the promised incentives for various communities within the state. On this note, KCR has decided to release the funds for the farmers.
The Chief Minister has directed his Finance Minister T Harish Rao to release funds for the farmers who will start their Rabi crop for the next year as an incentive from the government under the scheme ‘Rythu Bandhu’. Under this scheme, farmers will get Rs 5000 each as support for the investments in their crops. The state finance secretary stated that a whopping sum of 7,500 crores of rupees will be distributed to 55 lakh farmers of Telangana. In the first step, the government will deposit the money into the accounts of farmers who have agricultural land of one acre or less. In the second phase, they deposit the funds for the farmers who have land of ten acres or less.
However, the state’s finance department expressed its distress to the central government for stopping funds worth 40,000 crores of rupees, or else this ‘Raithu Bandhu’ would have been implemented by now. Still, the TRS government is committed to fulfilling the promise by taking emergency funds from various banks as debts.
