She had been quiet for a while after her release from Tihar Jail in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. However, MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has broken her silence and reacted to the current controversy surrounding Business Tycoon Gautam Adani, against whom serious accusations of bribery and fraud have surfaced in the United States.
The Congress party has demanded a joint parliamentary committee look into the Adani issue, and Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Modi of sheltering his friend Adani from arrest. Amid this, Kavitha from the BRS party slammed the deal in charged remarks.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Kavitha questioned, “Is there justice for Adani in a united India?” She pointed out the stark contrast between how a woman can be easily arrested without sufficient evidence, while Adani, despite multiple serious allegations, remains untouched. Kavitha also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s ongoing support for Adani, even amidst the controversy.
Kavitha further criticized the Modi government for advocating the idea of “Akhand Bharat” while allegedly practicing “selective justice.” She pointed out that political rivals are often arrested without proof, while individuals like Adani seem to escape any accountability despite repeated allegations.
Kavitha’s statement marks her first major comment in months, and it clearly challenges the Modi government. She linked her own legal battles to the way the government is handling Adani’s case, questioning the fairness and impartiality of the justice system.
