The BRS MLC Kavitha chose to skip the ED questioning that was due this morning and sent her advocate citing the reasons for her illness and other Supreme Court plea that is yet to come for hearing and tested the patience of the Enforcement Department.
The director of ED who directed Kavitha to attend the questioning today seemed to be angered by the latter’s request to postpone the questioning. After receiving a written request from her advocate, ED’s director didn’t consider the plea and re-directed her to attend by today evening at any cost without fail. Kavitha, who remained indoors for today has written in her plea to ED that her petition in the Apex Court was yet to come for hearing and requested them to postpone the questioning until the 24th of this month. Meanwhile, her advocate alleged that this entire ED’s overreaction is indeed a conspiracy against Kavita and her father KCR to downplay BRS. He opined that according to the law, a mother of two especially when the kids are below 15 years of age shouldn’t be called for questioning post 6 PM.
Kavita has been facing allegations regarding the Delhi Excise Scam and the ED found out she got financially benefited in the entire case. Her name was listed among the accused members in the scam and sources say that she might get arrested by the ED and this is the reason, she is skipping the questioning.
