Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has strongly criticised the Congress-led Telangana government, holding it responsible for the severe crop losses reported in parts of the state. During her visit to parched farmlands in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Kavitha assessed the damage and interacted with distressed farmers.
Addressing the media, Kavitha alleged that the crisis was not the result of a natural calamity but a “man-made drought” caused by the state government’s failure to manage water resources. She cited the situation in Tekulasomaram village of Valigonda mandal, where standing crops reportedly withered due to lack of irrigation.
“The suffering of farmers is heartbreaking. The Congress government’s inefficiency and lack of understanding of water management have pushed cultivators into despair,” she said.
Kavitha declared that the BRS would not remain silent in the face of what she described as a “failure of governance,” and assured that the party would continue to fight for justice until affected farmers receive adequate compensation.
