The actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has been involved in a candid chit-chat with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. In the conversation, the two leaders discussed a different range of issues including Politics, Chinese aggression, assassination, Tamilians, cinemas and many more.
Sharing the video link on his social media handles, Kamal Haasan wrote- ‘A conversation between two proud Indians. All other identities blur when it comes to the Nation . @rahulgandhi. Have a great united Indian new year.’
Speaking about his opinion on Gandhi and why he wrote, directed, and simultaneously fronted the 2000 film, Hey Ram, Kamal Haasan said- ‘That is my way of saying sorry to my Bapu. And the worst form of criticism is assassination and I think it’s cheap.’
Discussing the Chinese aggression in recent times, Rahul Gandhi stated how the current government miscalculated the threat from the neighboring country and how the leader of the nation (Narendra Modi) allegedly playing it down.
During the conversation, Rahul Gandhi even surprised the Vikram actor with a present which is a large photo of the Tiger that was captured by Rahul’s nephew. Presenting it to Kamal, Rahul stated that the tiger represented the actor, his approach, his attitude toward life, and the fact that he is a great Indian, a great captain and he is absolutely proud of the talented actor.
