Jai Bharat National Party President and former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana alleged that there is a conspiracy to kill him in Visakhapatnam and complained to Visakha Police Commissioner A. Ravi Shankar Ayyannar on Thursday, seeking protection.

Lakshminarayana has filed nomination to contest as the MLA candidate of Visakhapatnam North Constituency. From there, BJP leader Vishnukumar Raju and KK Raju of YCP are contesting. He particularly mentioned in his complaint that Gali Janardhan Reddy and YCP candidate are after him and provide some evidence  too.

He also seems to be bringing this issue to the attention of the Election Commission also. Police registered a case on Lakshmi Narayana’s complaint and started investigation.

Lakshmi Narayana, who spoke after filing a complaint with the police,  said that during his tenure in the CBI, he had seen cases that shocked the country and that there were many threats at that time. He took voluntary retirement after 2018. However, he said that the disciples of the accused in the old cases had ganged up on him with a grudge he acted against their `boss’.

”I never cared about such threats and sought protection. But, our family members were very scared. Based on the information I received threats in social media also. So I thought they were very serious. So I complained”, he added.

Particularly mentioning the name of YCP candidate, contesting against him, former CBI officer raveled once in a meeting he had directly threatened him stating that “you created several difficulties to my Guru. I will see your end some how”. He alleged that the conspiracy to finish him was hatched by those who are in direct politics.

In the last election, Lakshmi Narayana contested as Visakha MP candidate on behalf of Jana Sena and was defeated. Recently he formed the Jai Bharat National Party and fielded candidates on behalf of this party in some constituencies. The Election Commission has taken a decision by allotting torchlight symbol as common a symbol of Parliament and Assembly constituencies to his party.
