Former minister Perni Nani faced an adverse crowd from Jana Sena activists in Gudivada on Sunday, who threw eggs against him, protesting his recent comments against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. This has led to tension in the city.
Perni Nani came to YSP leader Thota Shivaji’s house in Gudivada. Observing this, the Jana Sena activists and fans started to protest against Perni. It may be recalled that the former minister is known as a bitter critic of both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan for several years.
They demanded an apology from him for making inappropriate comments against Pawan Kalyan. The Jana Sainiks staged a dharna in front of Shivaji’s house and warned that they will now allow him to leave the city without extending an apology.
Some of the youths, who were enraged by this order, threw eggs at Perni Nani. Pereni Nani, who was shocked by this sudden protest, immediately turned back from Gudivada. Though some of the people from the crowd tried to destroy his car, the police were alerted and prevented them.
As the situation became tense, the alerted police tried to disperse crowd. In this connection they took several people into custody. Some Jana Sainiks even tried to block police vehicles. They were lying on the road across from the vehicles. This led to a clash between the police and the Jana Sainiks.
Meanwhile, Jana Sainiks warned Perni Nani and deplored him to come to visit Gudivada to meet a person who is notorious for making posts insulting women. They alleged that while in power YCP leaders insulted women miserably, now extending solidarity with those who insult women.
They challenged Perni Nani to come out and answer questions from women of the city. They raised many slogans against the former minister. Even they showed chappals against him.
