BRS MLC K Kavitha was on Tuesday taken to the Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital in New Delhi after she developed health problems in Tihar jail. However, she was returned to the prison after undergoing some diagnostic tests and consulting the doctors.
Sources said Kavitha developed some gynaecological problems and was suffering from fever for the last couple of days. Her condition reportedly deteriorated on Tuesday, following which the prison authorities rushed her to the hospital for proper medical assistance.
However, the prison authorities informed that after medical consultations, the 46-year-old BRS leader was brought back to prison after undergoing some tests at the hospital, Her condition was stable and there was nothing to worry, they added.
Since her arrest, she has been suffering with high-BP problem and the court allowed her to take own medicines, besides medicare at the jail is also at her disposal.
Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case on March 15 from her Banjara Hills residence in Hyderabad. On April 11, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested her from Tihar jail in a corruption case linked to the alleged scam.
“Kavitha was taken to DDU Hospital after she developed some gynaecological problem and high fever around 4.30 pm. She was kept under observation and underwent some tests,” an official said.
