Jagan’s latest resolution to backfire on his government?

Sunday, December 22, 2024

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been taking decisions that are not only shocking the state voters but also shocking his own YSRCP cadre. One of his recent resolutions of adding Dalit Christians into SC and the communities of Boyas and Valmikis into ST has hugely backfired.

Jagan has always got the support of his home community of Reddys and also the Dalit communities of SC & ST all these years since he himself is a converted Christian. Until now the seats won by the YSRCP are with the support of BCs SCs and STs but now this support might be in jeopardy with his latest decision. The inclusion of Boyas and Valmikis into ST ignited a huge fire among the Tribals as they claim Boyas are migrants to the forests so their inclusion is indeed unethical. On the flip side, the same Boyas get BC reservations in some areas of Rayalaseema so this change did make them feel bad. All in all the STs protested against this huge resolution taken by the CM and declared that they are against it.

As this is not enough, already the YSRCP Government got a reputation that it is anti-Hindu and in turn encouraging conversions thereby promoting Christianity. Now the inclusion of Dalit Christians would completely hurt the Hindu vote bank present in the other communities thereby losing the vote bank. All in all, the political experts only declare that this move of Jagan would hit him back like a boomerang in the upcoming elections.
