The resignation of 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) chairman and retired IAS Officer Manmohan Singh has exposed how the former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy cheated them. Though he was appointed in July 2023 following government employees agitation, submitting his resignation to the Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad on June 14th, till now he was not provided any logistic support.
In his resignation letter, he deplored that he was unable to make any exercise as he was not provided an office, support staff or even a chair to receive submissions from the representatives of employees or discuss with any one. As a result, he said that he could not make any recommendation.
Jagan government’s fraud has been exposed as the 12th PRC commissioner has written a letter stating that he has not been able to make any recommendation for a year despite announcing that the next pay revision committee will be set up.
The Employees Unions have strongly protested against the Jagan government saying that the PRC commissioner does not even have a chair. PRC Commissioner’s statement that the actual work could not be started due to lack of logistic support is a direct proof of the Jagan government’s attitude.
During Jagan’s tenure as Chief Minister, the employees were impatient. In 2022, a huge protest rally was held in Vijayawada. DAs were not released on time. The then government utilized the funds in the APGLI and GPF accounts of the employees for its own. And retired employees did not get what they deserved. Similarly, in the case of pensioners.
Employees’ anger and discontent towards Jagan’s government was exposed during recent elections. They conveyed their anger through a record number of postal ballots.
Soon after Chandrababu Naidu took charge as Chief Minister, union leaders met him and pleaded to do justice. Naidu assured them to arrange a meeting by month-end to look into their problems. At this juncture, 12th Pay Commission Commissioner Manmohan Singh resigned sending alarm signals on the seriousness of problems they are facing.
