As the four accused in the AP liquor scam have reportedly admitted in the SIT investigation that they had implemented the orders from above, and that one or two of them are feared to be turned in as approvers, the Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy is said to be in panic. Knowing about details of SIT questioning the accused, through his own sources in the government, he is making hectic moves on how to avoid possible arrest.
It is learnt that senior advocates have been brought to Bangalore palace from Delhi and held a series of meetings. He has reportedly told the lawyers to explore avenues on how to avoid his arrest or at least not to climb the steps of the court. If at all he is arrested, he should be granted bail immediately.
Heavy rains have been falling in Bangalore for the past two days. Jagan’s Yelahanka Palace is said to be in the areas submerged due to the rain. As the lawyers were said to be trapped in the palace due to rain and later came out, their presence was exposed. The investigation team is currently busy trying to extract the truth of the ultimate beneficiary in the scam, from the accused in police custody.
On the other hand, the ED, which has started the investigation, suspects that money laundering took place from Delhi and Maharashtra. In this situation, both the AP police and the ED are suspicious that even if they find any small evidence, they will tighten a noose around YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Former CM Jagan has not gone to court in the illegal assets case for the past six years. He told the court about government programs and review meetings. If he is currently in AP, he will have to appear in court. He has not been in court even once this year after losing power. Jagan was finally forced to stay away from his daughter’s birthday celebrations in London after the court raised obstacles regarding his passport.
