YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy is said to be unable to digest the disastrous defeat in the assembly that no major leader in the country witnessed in the recent past. Most of his mistakes are reportedly attributed to the trust he has kept in the advice of BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.
On many issues following KCR advice led him politically very dangerous consequences. On the arrest of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to his `politics of victimization’ said to be prompted by KCR. Even change of more than half of his candidates also disturbed his poll campaign.
Several YCP leaders are admitting that YS Jagan today is facing such a humiliating situation because of his strict adherence to KCR words. They are stating that it was on the advice of KCR, Jagan had changed more than half of the candidates.
Jagan visited KCR when he was in the hospital after fell down in his home after his defeat in the assembly polls. At that time, KCR reportedly told him that he was mainly defeated due to continuation of most of the candidates ignoring they were facing severe anti- incumbency.
YCP leaders recalled that only after meeting KCR, Jagan had started changing candidates indiscriminately. This has led to many sitting MLAs and MPs, besides senior leaders leaving the party and joining with TDP and other parties.
YS Jagan and other key leaders of the party remained silent spectators and did not try to stop such migration of leaders. If KCR made a mistake by not changing the assembly candidates, the YCP circles admitting that CM Jagan made a mistake by changing the assembly candidates.
Moreover, YS Jagan also keenly follows KCR’s style of functioning in governance. Both the leaders are confined to their camp offices and hardly coming out. Even not visiting the Secretariat. Both of them are not only accessible to MLAs, but also ministers. They hardly discuss with ministers and senior leaders on key issues.
Though KCR occasionally conducts press conferences, Jagan has created history by not conducting a press conference during his five year regime. He may have blindly followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue.
