Former Chief Minister and YSP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s politics of ‘double standards’ have been exposed once again in the wake of Wakf Bill in the Parliament. YCP MPs voted in support of the Waqf Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
Bill till the previous day they claimed to oppose the Wakf Amendment Bill and their MPs opposed the Bill in the Lok Sabha. However, the YCP, which opposed it in the Lok Sabha, where the BJP-led NDA is having absolute majority, voted in favor in the Rajya Sabha, which is crucial for the Center.
It seems that the MPs voted in support of the Waqf Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Jaganmohan Reddy’s instructions. The YCP made a drama by issuing a whip after the voting to mislead the people. With this, criticism is pouring in that the whip after the voting, which is unprecedented in the history of the Parliament.
The national media and political parties opposing the bill are criticizing Jagan’s behavior. There is extreme dissatisfaction among the minority community over the support in the Rajya Sabha. It is reported that Muslims feel that Jagan has cheated them.
The YCP accused till the previous day that the Waqf Bill is against minorities, but within a day it silently supported it in the Rajya Sabha. The Muslim community is said to be shocked by Jagan’s behavior. Muslims are angry over the YSRCP’s backstabbing politics. Muslim groups are raising the alarm that the YSRCP has cheated Muslims by giving statements opposing it.
TDP official spokesperson Nagul Meera expressed his anger that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy cheated Muslims as a witness in Parliament. He accused that Jagan says one thing, but practices completely different. He lamented the YSRCP’s politics of double standards, particularly with regard to the Wakf Bill.
He said that it has clearly exposed YSRCP’s deceitful approach towards the Muslim community. He said that the YSRCP MPs voted today after talking about opposing the Wakf Amendment Bill until yesterday. He questioned why Jagan, who uses Muslims as a vote bank, did not at least say that this amendment should be made for their welfare.
“What are you so afraid of… are you such a coward, Jagan Reddy?”, he asked. He was furious, saying that Jagan did not even have the courage to clearly state what the YCP’s stand on the Wakf Act Amendment Bill was. He demanded that Jagan should answer why he issued a whip in the Lok Sabha, and left it in the Rajya Sabha?
Nagul Meera has appealed to all Muslim leaders, who are in YSRCP, to leave that party. “A leader who does not have the courage to state what the YCP’s stand is on the Wakf Amendment Bill is your leader. are you not ashamed?, he asked.
