Jagan Keem To Keep IPS ABV Waiting Without A Posting Till Retirement

Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s vindictiveness towards officers, who fails `surrender’ to him. The case of senior IPS officer and former intelligence chief AB Venkateswara Rao is a classic example of how he harassed him without a proper posting for the last five years and suspended him twice ignoring court orders and neglecting CAT directions.

Even after court verdicts, the government is not paying his salaries. For the second time, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) revoked his suspension and ordered the government to give him posting immediately. But even after 10 days the government ignored the order. As he is going to retire on May 31, it seems the government is determined not to give him any posting till his retirement.

The YSRCP government, which has imposed suspensions upon suspensions on him and harassed with false cases for five years, is still continuing the same trend. The CAT ruled on the 8th of this month that ABV’s suspension was invalid and he should be reinstated immediately.

It took 3 days for AB Venkateswara Rao to get copies of the CAT verdict  and immediately submitted an application to Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy seeking to join on duty. Since the Election Code is in force, the Chief Secretary needs to take permission from the Election Commission.

But he sent the file to Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy. Jaganmohan Reddy has reportedly ordered to challenge the CAT verdict in the High Court, without joining him in dury.

In the meantime, the government obtained permission from the Union Home Ministry to prosecute ABV, after a key officer in a prominent temple in the state lobbied at the Center.

Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy instead of taking him on duty, challenged the order given by CAT in the AP High Court on Thursday. But the vacation bench refused to entertain the same without a nod from the Chief Justice.
