The AP Government is trying its best to get more funds to run the state and its expenses. Its recent trials of getting funds from the central government will make any political lover think it is quite weirdly innovative.
As the RBI warned the AP government regarding its mammoth debts, CM Jagan approached the Indian Prime Minister and sought help. Now it was heavily rumored that the YSRCP Chief had requested the PM to get some funds in order to clear the overdraft and also to run the state. According to the sources close to the PM office, Jagan’s sarkar is asking the Rural Electrification Company and Power Finance Company to give funds not for the finance but as a loan to develop the ports of Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam, and Bhavanappadu with huge infrastructure. However, the PFC and REC are super strict in giving funds as they solely direct their clients to use funds only on the infrastructure of the ports.
Opposition leaders suspect that Jagan will get 20% of the funds, which is close to 2400 crores of rupees only to use them for freebies to attract voters in order to gain the trust and decrease the anti-incumbency. One has to wait and see if the central institutions are ready to believe the AP Government and grant the funds or not.
