There are claims in Congress circles that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is behind Minister Konda Surekha becoming the center of a series of controversies. From the very beginning, Revanth Reddy is believed to be intolerant towards her due to her family having a strong following, irrespective of the party and also having good rapport with the party high-command, also with the village level party workers.
Political observers say that Revanth Reddy targeted the Konda couple for not listening to him in various issues and moreover frequently making controversial comments, saying that they have been with the Congress party since the beginning. More particularly, Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali have cultivated rapport with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
In fact, there were reports that Surekha should be fired over the Nagarjuna issue. At that time, her political opponents complained to the high command that she should be removed from the cabinet. The Konda couple alleged that the Reddy community was behind these complaints and that Revanth Reddy was harassing them.
Konda Surekha claims to be a Congress blood, though for a short period she was in the BRS. In this process, Konda Surekha alleges that MLAs Kadiyam Srihari, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, government advisor Vem Narender Reddy and others who had joined the Congress after working in the TDP targeting them.
She alleged that Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who is the district in-charge minister, is cooperating with them in every way. She has been continuing to complain against them to the then state affairs in-charge Deepadas Munshi, the current in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, and PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.
On the other hand, complaints are also being made against Konda Surekha and Murali by their rival factions on various occasions. Due to this, the political fire in the Warangal Congress continues to burn. The developments taking place in this order are creating more and more trouble. Konda Surekha’s daughter Sushmita has now openly alleged that CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy are behind the latest developments.
