Is Jagan confined To Bangalore Due To Fear of Arrest?

Monday, September 16, 2024

YCP chief and former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is believed to be fearing that he may be arrested by the present state government in one or other case of large scale corruption or irregularities committed during his regime. That’s why, YCP sources felt he is mostly confined to Bangalore and very rarely seen in AP.

Even YCP leaders wonder if he is keeping silent even when his ministerial colleague Jogi Ramesh’s son Rajiv was arrested by ACB in the AgriGold lands scam. He is silent even when large scale allegations of land encroachments related to his regime are being exposed and investigations are being initiated against irregularities committed by some of his `high profile’ ministers.

Soon after coming to power, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that he will not engage in political vindictive activities and also cautioned his party MLAs and leaders that such vindictive attitude will be harmful. However, he asserted that the law will take its own course with regard to serious irregularities and corrupt practices committed during the previous regime.

Seven White Papers released by him exposed the nature of an anarchetic regime that Jaganmohan Reddy has continued.

However, Jagan seems to be spending most of his time in Bangalore and keeping away even from his own party leaders and cadre. He is seen in Tadepalli rarely for two or three days.

Due to his attitude, the entire YCP leadership seems to be locked up in demoralization. Several senior party leaders are leaving the party or keeping mum. Even scores of YCP municipal corporators and councillors defecting into TDP in several cities YCP leaders hardly make attempts to stop them.

He staged a dharna in New Delhi demanding imposition of President’s rule in the state, accusing `politics of murder’ in the TDP-led coalition government. He alleged as many as 36 political murders took place in the state during the first two months of Chandrababu Naidu regime. When TDP leaders challenged the government to reveal names of those persons killed in the state, YCP leaders became mum. Surprisingly, after this high-profile dharna in the national capital, Jagan almost turned silent.
