Former chief minister and YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy is not attending assembly sessions after he lost in the recent elections. Only to take oath as MLA, he was present in the assembly for a brief time.
Particularly, after Ch. Ayyannapatrudu was elected as Speaker of the house, he did not pay attention to the assembly. During the YCP regime, the ruling party tried to harass Ayyannapatrudu and his son by implicating them in false cases. Ayyannapatrudu also stood like a rock and retorted with serious allegations against the ruling party.
Speaker Ayyannapatrudu expressed suspicion that Jagan may not attend the assembly because he may be afraid he needs to pay respect to the Speaker in the house. However, he advised the former chief minister to attend the assembly session and actively participate in its proceedings.
Moreover, he expressed hope that if Jagan attends the assembly session, he would like to meet him and also to have a formal conversation also. He announced that the AP Assembly session will begin on November 11.
As the state government is going to present its full budget in this session, the Speaker said this would be an important session and all elected MLAs expected to take part representing the sentiments of the people, who elected them.
He advised the YCP chief that it would be good if Jagan came to these important sessions. “We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of YS Jagan and his party members to the Assembly”, he added. Speaker said he has already invited YCP chief Jagan to the assembly session.
Ayyannapatrudu said that all the elected MLAs should attend the assembly session and bring any problem in their constituencies to the attention of the government. He said that if the people’s representatives do not come to the assembly, the work in their constituency will be affected.
The Speaker has advised that MLAs of all parties must attend the assembly session and bring the problems of the people of local constituencies to the attention of the government and work to solve those problems. He said that he wants to talk to them.
