Hyderabad Commissioner Ranganath has addressed complaints regarding the alleged encroachment by Owaisi and Malla Reddy colleges within Flood Tide Line (FTL) limits. He emphasized that any structures within FTL boundaries will face demolition, including those encroaching on ponds. The Commissioner affirmed that notices will not be issued for such encroachments; instead, direct demolition will occur. He stressed that Hyderabad will not be manipulated by political interests.
Commissioner Ranganath clarified that the enforcement of FTL regulations is impartial, focusing solely on the future of students rather than political affiliations. He acknowledged the critical importance of FTL but indicated that some leniency might be given to institutions to consider the students’ future.
He also noted that enforcement actions would be consistent across party lines, stating that structures such as Dharmasatra will be demolished if they fall within FTL limits. Recently, several BJP leaders from Hyderabad met with the Commissioner, presenting evidence of various ponds encroached upon within the city. The Commissioner assured that these complaints would be addressed appropriately.
