Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed her anger alleging former Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy is spreading false narration on the construction of medical colleges. She made it clear that the P3 model is being followed with the aim of completing the construction of colleges by 2027 and providing medical education to the youth.
“Jagan, who sits in the Bangalore Palace full-time and comes to Tadepalli part-time and throws mud on the state, has no right to talk about this state,” she said. She alleged that Jagan’s goal is to scare people and gain political gain. She said that PPP does not mean private partnership as claimed by Jagan.
Lamenting that Jagan is creating fear among the people by misrepresenting PPP models, she said that she does not understand why Jagan is worried about the PPP model.
Anitha said that in the PPP model, all the ownership rights of the college belong to the government. Construction and development of infrastructure will be done with private partnership. She said that private companies will develop these colleges with zero profit and that after 33 years, medical colleges will come under the control of the government.
But, she deplored that Jagan is just trading rumors. Jagan Reddy, who is lying about building 17 medical colleges, actually has nothing in the 17 medical colleges that Jagan claims to have built except foundation stones and boards, she said. Out of the Rs. 8,500 crores to build 17 medical colleges, she said that Jagan spent only Rs. 1,450 crores in five years.
Anitha said that it is ridiculous for YSRCP leaders to say that people are saying “aha” after seeing the medical colleges built by Jagan. She said that wherever you look at Madanapalle, Markapuram, Bapatla, Palakollu, Narsipatnam, Machilipatnam, Eluru, the medical colleges established by Jagan are like sooty shacks.
Moreover, she said that people are saying “aha” after seeing the boards in these colleges. Of all these, Jagan has built only the stone slabs, but no basic facilities have been developed. She said that medical colleges have been confined to the foundations.
The MCI representatives who came in June 2024 to inspect the medical colleges allegedly built during Jagan’s tenure refused to give seats after seeing the aha buildings. “Because of your sin, today the youth are deprived of medical education,” she added.
