In a major setback to YCP leaders, the AP High Court on Wednesday rejected anticipatory bail petitions of YCP leaders in attack on TDP central office in Mangalagiri and also Chandrababu Naidu’s residence in Undavalli, during the YCP regime.

Former minister Jogi Ramesh filed an anticipatory bail petition in connection with the attack on Chandrababu’s residence. YCP leaders Talashila Raghuram, Devineni Avinash, Nandigam Suresh, Lella Appi Reddy and other leaders approached the High Court in the case of attack on TDP office.

Earlier, the High Court had issued an interim order not to take hasty action against the accused in these two incidents. After the completion of the case examination, the High Court has ruled that their petitions are being rejected.

The lawyers on behalf of the YCP leaders requested that the High Court orders be suspended for two weeks and given an opportunity to approach the Supreme Court. Lawyers on behalf of YCP leaders said that there is a verdict of the Supreme Court in this regard.

However, TDP lawyers gave a copy of the Supreme Court verdict to the court, rejecting their contention. After considering everything, the High Court said that the final order will be given today afternoon.

Meanwhile, it is known that YCP mobs attacked the TDP central office in Mangalagiri on October 19, 2021. As the YCP government was in power at that time, the police registered a case and got away with it. But after TDP came to power in the state, the focus was on this case.

Mangalagiri Rural Police has registered a case as Crime No. 650/2021 on this incident. In addition to section 307 of the IPC, some other sections have been added. In this sequence, a total of 106 people have been found involved in the attack on the TDP office so far in the police investigation. 21 people were arrested and remanded.

Mangalagiri Rural Police issued notices to the remaining 85 people from 19th of this month. Among them, along with MLC Lella Appi Reddy, YCP leader Devineni Avinash from Vijayawada and Arava Satyam, also a news channel reporter. Notices are pasted at the homes of those who are not available.
