A fresh FIR has been filed by AP CID against the chairman of Eenadu and Margadarsi Groups, Ramoji Rao, and his daughter-in-law Sailaja Kiran based on the complaint given by Gadireddy Uri Reddy.

Getting into the details, it was alleged that GJ Reddy had given 5000 rupees to Ramoji Rao at the time of starting Margadarsi Chit Fund Pvt Ltd in 1960. Ramoji Rao has given 80 shares in return for that amount which was later turned into 288 shares over the years passing by. After the death of Uri Reddy’s father, he seems to have approached Ramoji Rao with the help of some family members. When he finally met Ramoji Rao and discussed the shares, he was threatened and made him forcefully sign on the blank papers. He was at gunpoint so he was left with no other option rather than to sign. This was the confession given to the CID by Uri Reddy.

He also alleged that Ramoji had transferred those shares to his daughter-in-law Sailaja Kiran. Taking these details into consideration, the AP CID has filed a new case on Ramoji and Sailaja Kiran. In response to this, Ramoji Rao has filed a quash petition in the High Court. On hearing both arguments, the HC has given a stay on the FIR and directed the AP CID not to take any kind of action until further orders.
