Former minister and BRS leader T Harish Rao expressed his anger that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had lied by calling a meeting of MPs on AP’s Banakacharla project. “When we are demanding him to stop Chandrababu Naidu’s water theft, he is resorting to attacking the BRS government”, he lamented.
While KCR fought before the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal for the state to get 763 TMC of Krishna Basin, he wondered that Revanth said that 500 TMC would be enough. He warned that the state would suffer serious losses due to this. He expressed his surprise that when KCR had demanded for 1900 TMC from Godavari waters, Revanth was saying that 1000 TMC could be enough, and that Banakacharla could be built by giving 1000 TMC to Telangana.
Harish Rao expressed their anger that Revanth had lied about Banakacharla and instead of fighting against Chandrababu’s looting of water resources, made pleas to him. He also deplored that it was a bad idea to announce that there was no cabinet approval for Kaleshwaram. He made it clear that the project went ahead after the cabinet meeting gave the green signal, and that there was nothing but mudslinging on them.
What is Chandrababu Naidu relying on benevolence? Why is Chandrababu giving us water?, he asked. He recalled the CWC has given permission to Telangana for 946 TMC in Godavari and another 20 TMC has been approved in principle.
He said that when Andhra Pradesh has been working on the Banakacharla project for six months, and moving forward by writing letters to the central government, meeting the central finance minister, the central water minister, it is strange that the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is innocently askingwhich basin Banakacharla is in?
Harish Rao criticized both CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy for not having any real understanding of the state and the projects in the state. He reminded that 968 TMCs were allocated to the Telangana state in the combined Andhra Pradesh and that after the KCR government came to power, all the permissions were obtained for 946 TMCs out of that 968.
