Former Irrigation Minister and BRS leader Harish Rao has demanded that if Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who is talking about providing water to 48 lakh acres in Telangana and improving cultivation, is sincere, then he should release a white paper showing how many acres he has provided water to during his 18-month rule.
Harish Rao said that Revanth Reddy went to great lengths to claim credit for the job notification issued during the BRS government by providing appointment letters. He criticized that instead of saying four good words while providing appointment letters, he has instead told the same lies in his own style.
He said that instead of instilling enthusiasm among those joining the jobs, he has given warnings and intimidated them, and will the Vigilance and NDSA reports say that the officials should be hanged? Is this a democracy or is Revanth a monarchy?, he wondered. He lamented that how can Revanth Reddy warn engineers that they would be counted if they followed instructions of politicians?
He wondered what knowledge the Chief Minister is spreading the bad news that Kaleshwaram has collapsed? Are you an engineer? Or an irrigation expert?, he asked.
Harish Rao pointed out inconstitant in the statements of the Chief Minister over the Kaleshwaram project. He recalled that one he says Rs 1.50 lakh crore was spent, but again says Rs 1 lakh crore. Likewise, he recalled that they did not provide water to a single ditch, and again they said that they provided water to only 50,000 acres.
Harish Rao recalled that it was Chief Minister confessed in the Assembly through his white paper that 20 lakh acres (new and stabilized) of irrigation water will be provided through the Kaleshwaram project. But, he accused that Goebbels is now spreading the news that even 50,000 acres of water has not been provided.
The BRS leader lamented that Revanth Reddy himself degraded the status day by day while holding a responsible position. He alleged that it is shameful that Revanth’s attitude has not changed even after the NDSA report clearly ruled out the rumours that one lakh crores have been washed away and the project has collapsed.
