Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev hailed that he understood the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, which will complete 25 years in cancer treatment, is at the forefront in providing the right to life. He participated as Chief Guest at the 25th Foundation Day of the hospital on Sunday.
He suggested to Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha, who was a guest of honour, that he should think about providing employment to the disabled in government hospitals in a similar way when he was coming in the lift today he found a disabled person was operating it.
The Governor said that he is happy to see the implementation of the call given by the present Prime Minister Modi, Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan and Jai Anusandhan. He said that if everyone is well, the society will also be well and Basavatarakam Hospital is moving forward by providing relief to those suffering from cancer. He suggested that the hospital’s efforts in providing Arogya Bharat should continue in the future as well.
Minister Rajanarsimha congratulated the management and staff of Basavatarakam Hospital, which has been providing services to cancer patients with great service and is gaining fame in the country, on completing 25 years.
He said that he is happy that the hospital, which was established in accordance with the aspirations of the late NT Rama Rao, is at the forefront of providing a new life to many cancer patients. He said that cancer cases are increasing day by day in the state and the existing Y.N.J. and Basavatarakam Hospitals are providing services to the increasing cases but they are not enough.
That is why, he said that the government is setting up four regional cancer care centers in the state and along with them, cancer wards are also being set up in every district hospital so that the necessary patients can be treated.
Hospital chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna presiding over the program said that this hospital was not established for money and profit, but was born out of a personal loss. He said that this hospital, which was started in the year 2000, has today transformed into a top-notch hospital in India. He said that the hospital has treated many challenging cases in line with his father’s aspirations and is proud to be able to fulfill his mother’s wish.
Earlier, Jishnu Dev Verma inaugurated the first-ever state-of-the-art Linear Accelerator radiotherapy machine in the country. Damodar Rajanarsimha inaugurated the modern cath lab set up to provide heart-related tests and treatment to patients coming to the hospital. As part of these programs, Nandamuri Balakrishna unveiled a huge pylon set up in the hospital premises.
