Google to Set Up Safety Engineering Center in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, an established tech hub that houses global giants like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta and Apple, is gearing up for a major addition to its growing industry landscape. Telangana government has formally partnered with Google to set up the Google Safety Engineering Center or GSEC in the city.

On Wednesday, Google’s team met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills. In the meeting, the Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu also attended. The finalization of the agreement for setting up GSEC in Hyderabad was confirmed, which CM Revanth Reddy announced on Twitter.

This is the second Google Safety Engineering Center in the Asia-Pacific region and the fifth in the world. Google’s leadership team, led by CEO Royal Hansen, has faith that Hyderabad has the potential to emerge as a leader globally for safety engineering and cybersecurity. CM Revanth Reddy highlighted this collaboration as one significant step in making Hyderabad a major player in such vital sectors.

Thousands of employment opportunities are going to reach the youth of Telangana in the next few years from GSEC. Google’s CEO also mentioned that Hyderabad’s great technological ecosystem makes it the right place for advanced projects related to cybersecurity and safety engineering. Experts believe that GSEC will add more value to career opportunities in these emerging fields.
