`Friends of the Congress’ party from the USA have cautioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy against hasty actions in the Formula E race case in Telangana and advised him to exercise caution before taking any action.
To this end, they have written an open letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, senior ministers Bhatti Vikramarka, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Uttam Kumar Reddy. This letter, written in the name of `Friends of Congress USA’, has now gone viral on social media.
They believe that the investigation in this race case is crucial, but warned that arresting the former IT minister KTR just to create a sensation and taking hasty action can lead to dangerous results. They suggested that the government should take appropriate action only after a thorough investigation.
They said that there is no case against the foreign company concerned in this case, and if the court orders the company to be included as a party in the case due to corruption allegations, it will have a serious impact on foreign investors.
They said that the government officials involved in this matter will be humiliated personally and departmentally, which will send a wrong message to future governments. They also said that people may consider the arrest and imprisonment of opposition leaders as political partisanship, which may affect the national image of the Congress party during the forthcoming Delhi elections.
They cautioned that if similar corruption allegations are made against Congress ministers and MLAs, the impact will be severe. They believed that if there are mistakes in the handling of this case, it will have a bad impact on the IT and Industries departments.
In this context, it was suggested that before taking any action, a proper investigation should be conducted and action should be taken only after determining whether corruption or quid pro quo has taken place. Senior ministers, especially IT and Industries ministers, were urged in the letter to act carefully in this matter and take fair decisions.
Meanwhile, former CBI Joint Director JD Lakshminarayana has ridiculed the contents of notices issued by KTR by the ACB stating that there is no clarity in the notices and that they are more like letters than notices.
Speaking to a TV channel on Tuesday regarding the notices received by KTR, he said that he had examined the notice given to KTR by the ACB and it did not mention under which section KTR was being summoned. If we examine the gist of the letter given to KTR by the ACB, he said that he had to appear before the ACB for questioning and submission of documents. He said that if any document is to be taken from KTR, he should be given a notice under 94 BNSS (91 CrPC), which he did not have.
