Former TTD chairman and YSRCP senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has strongly reacted to the allegations of theft of Parakamani at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and clarified that he has not taken any unethical action and that these allegations are completely false. He accused that the campaign being carried out against Tirumala Parakamani is a completely politically motivated conspiracy.
Asserting that he is honest and not a person who is afraid of such cheap tactics, he demanded a CBI probe into this, but not by APCID composed of loyal officials.
“TDP leaders are spreading false propaganda that theft has taken place. If they really have the courage, they should investigate this case directly with the CBI and not with the CBI,” he challenged the government. He recalled that Ravikumar, the key accused in this case, has been involved in irregularities in Tirumala for 20 years and it was his government that exposed him.
Stating that his theft came to light when he was the TTD chairman, he wondered why no action was taken earlier, saying that Chandrababu Naidu was also in power before that. He said that TTD had seized assets worth about Rs 100 crore from him. He challenged the CBI to investigate and prove if his benami assets were transferred to them.
Karunakar Reddy challenged the Chandrababu-led government to reveal the vigilance report that investigated this incident if it had the courage. He alleged that the accused has extensive assets in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. “They say he is our benami. If he is really benami, then the CBI should investigate his assets as well,” he demanded.
The former MLA criticized the Tirumala issue for being used politically and resorting to personal attacks in the name of criticism. He said that the current coalition government in power is degrading the sanctity of Tirumala. He strongly condemned the desecration of the temple for political gains. Bhumana made it clear that he is honest before the people and is not a person who is afraid of anyone.
