Popular actress and former MP Vijayasanti, who is keeping silent after formation of Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in the state and confining to some social media posts, is said to be keen again to play an active role in Congress and seeking party nomination in the present MLC polls from MLAs quota.
Vijayashanti, who met AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi, has reportedly sought some important role in the party and got a clear assurance from the party chief. He advised her to work actively for the party. Now, the decision is said to be left for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on how to accommodate her.
Now, the excitement continues in the Congress over the selection of MLC candidates. The nomination period for five MLC seats will end on the 10th of this month. One of the five seats will go to the opposition BRS. It has been decided to allocate one seat to its ally, the CPI. It is reported that Chada Venkata Reddy will be finalized from the CPI.
Now, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has directly called CM Revanth and requested that the Congress allocate one seat to them. Revanth has promised to allocate the vacant MLC seat in the local bodies quota soon. With this, Congress will get three seats.
Revanth has already prepared his proposals on the selection of candidates for these three seats. Revanth, who is currently on a tour of Delhi, will discuss the issue of candidates with the party leadership today. It is expected that OC, SC and minorities will get a chance.
At the same time, another argument is being heard that BC, SC and minorities will be given a chance instead of OC. At this time, former MP Vijayashanti directly met AICC chief Kharge. Vijayashanti, who previously worked as an MP from TRS, joined the Congress before the 2023 elections.
Initially, it was thought that Ramulamma would have priority in the Revanth government. There was a campaign at that time that Vijayashanti would contest from Medak Lok Sabha again in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. But, Vijayashanti was kept away from the contest.
Now Vijayashanti is thinking of making her political re-entry directly from Delhi. She requested that she be given an MLC under the women’s quota. It seems that through this, she has said that she will work hard for the party in the state. It is said that Kharge also responded positively to this.
However, as about14 important people are in the race for these three seats, it is yet to be seen how far Vijayasanti can get a chance this time. Moreover, the new party in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan opinion a;sp will be crucial in finalizing the MLCs.
