Former minister and BRS MLA Malla Reddy has revealed that he is thinking of quitting politics permanently by the next election. Stating that presently he is with BRS, he made it clear that he has no intention of leaning towards any party anymore. He started his political career as TDP MP in 2014 elections, later elected to the assembly twice from BRS and also became minister in KCR’s cabinet.
Malla Reddy said that he is 73 years old and he has already served as an MP, MLA and minister and thinks that politics is enough. He indicated that he will continue in politics for only three more years. After that, he said that he will serve the public and develop his educational institutions such as colleges and universities. He clarified that he is not leaning towards any party at present and will continue in BRS.
Malla Reddy’s political journey has been very interesting. Initially, he rose as a businessman and head of educational institutions. Later, he entered politics and won as the Malkajgiri MP on behalf of TDP in 2014. After that, he joined BRS and won as Medchal MLA in 2018 and also got berth in KCR’s cabinet.
Whatever he said, whether it was a press conference or a public meeting, he used to speak directly and clearly in his own style and attract the attention of the people. This latest statement made by him has become a topic of discussion in Telangana political circles. However, only time will tell whether he will really quit politics or change his mind in the future.
It can be said that these comments made by Mallareddy have shocked the BRS party. If a leader with strong public support leaves the party, it can harm the party. On the other hand, it is believed that these comments may provide opportunities for those who want to enter politics for the first time. If Malla Reddy really quits politics, it will be interesting to see who the new leader in the Medchal constituency he represents will be. Political sources predict that in addition to personal reasons, the current political situation may also be a reason behind his decision.
