Anakapalli: A fire broke out at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City in Parawada, Anakapalli district, on Monday morning, sparking concerns among workers and locals. The incident occurred at the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) of Metro Chem Pharma company, where flames erupted unexpectedly.
Thick smoke engulfed the area, causing panic among employees and nearby residents. Fire department teams promptly arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control after nearly three hours of efforts.
Plant representatives confirmed that no workers were injured in the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Notably, this is not the first fire accident reported in the pharma city, as frequent incidents have raised safety concerns among the workforce.
