Former Civil Supplies Minister and Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani has acquired ill-repute image in the public for his verbal diarrhoea against political rivals. Many a time, he crossed the limit and behaved like an unmannered and irresponsible politician with his filthy language against his opponents like Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh. Despite widespread criticism, Nani never calmed down and make vicious attack on TDP leaders using pejoratives and expletives.
As the NDA government under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu decided to put an end to malicious social media hate campaign through extreme use of police, many supporters of YSR Congress party came under intense scrutiny in the last couple of weeks. Several foul-mouthed followers and lower rung leaders, who have been resorting to abuses and smear campaigns, have already been arrested. Many others are absconding to evade arrest. Infamous supporters like Sree Reddy, Posani Krishna Murali and Ram Gopal Varma are already at the receiving end in the form of cases.
Now, it is Kodali Nani’s turn to face the consequences for his derogatory comments in the last five years. Reportedly, a police case has been registered against Nani in Vishakapatnam III Town station for his slanderous remarks on Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh during his three year term as minister.
A girl named Anjani Priya from Vizag lodged a complaint on Kodali Nani for his offensive language which led to mental distress and agony. She filed a written complaint on Saturday evening and a case has been registered. It would be interesting to see if the police summons Nani in this case and take suitable action promptly.
The Telugu Desam Party cadre and Janasena supporters have been eagerly waiting for the arrest of Kodali Nani and other leaders who mocked their leaders in a bitter and harsh manner with use of abusive language when YSRCP was in power. We have to wait and how the situation unfolds as the government has adopted zero tolerance towards the bad practice that went unchecked in the last five years.
