Fact Check AP has made it clear that only a total amount of Rs. 139.75 crores was spent in NTR district towards flood relief operations. It has refuted YCP leaders’ accusations that only Rs 23 crore was spent on candles and matches.
The government deplored that some people are working on social media and spreading false propaganda that Rs.23 crore was spent on matches and candles as part of the flood relief measures. Revenue Special Principal Secretary RP Sisodia condemned such campaigns in a statement.
He said some people are doing such false campaigns to spread mud on the government and to mislead the people. He said that due to the floods, the people in the flood-affected areas were in dire straits during the night, and mobile generators were used to provide relief to them. He said that Rs 23 crores was mainly spent on mobile generators.
Apart from this, it has been clarified that matches and candles have also been provided to the flood victims. Sisodia warned that even after the cost of flood relief efforts is clearly disclosed, legal action will be taken against those who are spreading false propaganda in the same way again without any evidence.
Meanwhile, Minister Nara Lokesh criticized YCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy for not giving even a single rupee out of one crore he promised to give to the flood victims. Responding on X platform, he said that Jagan is poisoning the flood relief efforts by not distributing one packet of water or one packet of biscuits to the flood victims.
He lamented that they are spreading fake propaganda saying Rs.23 crores for candles and matches in flood affected areas. He said that the cost of these was not even Rs. 23 lakhs. He said that the dark creatures that emerged during Jagan’s dark regime were not the dark calculations, But in the coalition government, he asserted that the entire expenditure is transparent. He advised YS Jagan, who hid in Tadepalli Palace and drank public money like mecca and lemon water, should stop fake campaigns.
