Extra focus on Kuppam ditched Jagan in Pulivendula

The Teacher’s and Graduate’s MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh have changed a lot of political dynamics. Especially for the ruling party, there are two major things that went wrong which have now become lessons.

YSRCP and its Chief Jagan have planned to corner TDP and its National head Chandrababu Naidu in order to humiliate them by garnering more votes in Kuppam side MLC polls. Thus, the ruling party had invested all its resources in pooling the votes by completely losing the focus and grip on Jagan’s hometown, Pulivendula with rather over-confidence. The results shook YSRCP to the ground as it lost Pulivendula in order to win on Kuppam’s side thereby facing an embarrassing situation, especially when the general polls are approaching. Political experts blame the ruling party for its bad calculations and focusing on defeating its enemy instead of concentrating on its own strengths, which is indeed an expensive lesson to be learned.

The second costly thing YSRCP has learned is its growing anti-incumbency. YSRCP is off the thought that it would regain power with all the incentives but the change of mood of AP voters did give a jolt to the ruling party thereby hinting to change its way of ruling. One has to wait and observe if YSRCP takes these two valuable lessons into account from the MLC results or not.
