Stating that the coalition government will sell liquor after conducting six types of quality tests, Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra said that they are trying to improve the health of the people to some extent by providing quality liquor.

He inspected the Jerry Pothulapalem depot of Andhra Pradesh Beverages Corporation on Tuesday and examined several records. He spoke to the workers at the depot and inquired about their hardships. Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that they are examining the procedures being followed in each depot as per the orders of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The Minister said that only scanning stickers were put up during the Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, but if you scan that sticker during the coalition government, you will know where it went and where it came from. He said that due to the lack of scanning process during the YSRCP government, alcohol was also brought from neighboring states and sold.

He said that in the past, it was not known what brand of alcohol was and how many brands there were. He expressed concern that due to the drastic increase in liquor prices under the YCP government, the youth have become addicted to cheap marijuana and have lost their lives.

Minister Ravindra said that the youth have become addicted to marijuana because they cannot buy liquor due to the policies and liquor rates of the YCP government. He warned that if belt shops are operated in the state, they will be booked and the shops will be seized.

He said that from the 29th of this month, a program will be implemented to completely check adulterated liquor through a new program called “Navodaya”. It was announced that 340 shops will be allotted to Kallu Geetha workers at 10 percent each in liquor shops and a 50 percent concession in license fees will be given.

Minister Kollu Ravindra said that the margin issue is being examined as the government has come to the notice that the margin of the wine shops currently being operated is not sufficient.
