Ex MLA Pendem Dorababu To Leave YCP

Thursday, November 14, 2024

YCP got a big shock in Kakinada district. Pithapuram MLA Pendem Dorababu has decided to resign from the party. It seems that Pendem Dorababu has already given clarity to the key leaders about his resignation from YCP. Along with Dorababu, many constituency leaders will be leaving YCP.

All of them are likely to resign on Wednesday. YCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy denied Dorababu the Pithapuram sitting seat in the recent assembly elections and fielded Vanga Geetha against Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and she failed to make any impact.

Dorababu, who failed to contest against Pawan Kalyan in recent elections due to YCP’s attitude, is now reportedly showing enthusiasm to resign from YCP and join Jana Sena. He was angry as the party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy failed to keep up his promise of making him as district party president.

Recently he had avoided attending Jagan’s dharna in New Delhi alleging political murder in TDP’s regime. He has been sending signals for a few days about his intention to join Jana Sena. A few days ago, Dorababu organized a huge meeting with his followers on the occasion of his birthday.

At that time, neither the YCP flag nor Jagan’s photo was seen anywhere in the welcome flexi and cut-out. Since then, many speculate that he is preparing ground to leave the party. Like him, several YCP leaders all over the state are said to be expressing discontent over raw deal by the party leadership.

Even after humilating defeat in recent polls, they are alleging that they could not see any visible change in the attitude of Jganmohan Reddy and hardly bothering about party structure and district level leaders. Only a couple of people around Jagan are practically running the show.

Jaganmohan Reddy mostly confined to Bangalore palace or Tadepalli palace, but hardly interacted with party leaders seeking groundlevel feedback, unlike TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. A senior YCP leader admitted that it was due to reservations being expressed by TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders against indiscriminate admission of YCP leaders into their parties they are hesitating to come out.
