Actor Kiran Abbavaram has found success with the movie ‘*KA’, sharing his thoughts at the film’s recent success meet. He announced that a sequel, titled ‘KA 2’, is in the works and also addressed his emotional speech during the pre-release event.
“Thanks to the audience for embracing our film. We never anticipated this level of success. Viewers have welcomed me as one of their own. Initially, we planned just four premiere shows, but due to overwhelming demand, we expanded them. In 82 locations, the premieres went houseful. During the pre-release event, my speech was unplanned, I wanted to speak about my mother and her struggles. My emotions stemmed from the challenges of the past year; I didn’t intend to offend anyone or belittle anyone’s work but simply shared my pain. I’ve even received calls from Chennai requesting screenings in Tamil Nadu. Although it may not be a Tamil version, we’re considering arranging at least five Telugu screenings there,” Kiran shared. Headded that the team will announce KA 2 soon, saying, “KA 2 will dive into interesting questions raised in the first part, like why it gets dark by 3 p.m. in Krishnagiri, and the consequences of these phenomena.”
Kiran further shared that he was immediately drawn to the screenplay upon hearing the story and was especially captivated by the climax, which stayed with him for days. He credited his wife for her constant support throughout this project.
KA, directed by Sujeeth and Sandeep, is a suspense thriller starring Tanvee Ram, Nayan Sarika, Achyuth Kumar, and Redin Kingsley in pivotal roles. Released as a Diwali treat on Thursday, the team has added 186 additional screens in response to audience demand. The movie is also set to release in Malayalam on November 8.
