The Election Commission has released the schedule for the upcoming MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with 10 seats under the MLA quota set to fall vacant. Both states will witness elections for five MLC positions each.
In Andhra Pradesh, the tenure of MLCs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Janga Krishnamurthy, D. Rama Rao, P. Ashok Babu, and Tirumala Naidu will end on March 29. Meanwhile, in Telangana, the terms of MLCs Satyavathi Rathod, Mahmood Ali, Mirza Riyaz ul Hasan, Sheri Subhash Reddy, and Egge Mallesham are also set to conclude next month.
According to the announced schedule, the election notification will be issued on March 3, with the nomination process commencing on March 10. Scrutiny of nominations is scheduled for March 11, and the last date for withdrawal is March 13. Polling will take place on March 20 from 9 AM to 4 PM, followed by vote counting from 5 PM onwards on the same day.
