ED searches In Bhoodan Land case creating A stir In Hyderabad Old City

Monday, December 8, 2025

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials searches in the Bhoodan Land case in Hyderabad are creating a stir.  ED officials conducted searches in the houses of Munawar Khan and Qadir Unnisa in the old city, as well as Sarfan and Sukur. Munawar Khan and Qadir Unnisa illegally laid out and sold the Bhoodan land. It is known that IAS Officer Amay Kumar was questioned by ED officials in the same case earlier.

There is about 103 acres of Bhoodan land in survey numbers 181 and 182 in Nagaram in Maheshwaram mandal of Rangareddy district. However, a dispute has been going on over this land for some time now. It seems that about 50 acres of land has been encroached upon. After this 50 acres of land was handed over to private individuals, they divided it into plots and are now selling it.

As this matter is within the jurisdiction of the court, the court has stayed the transactions related to those lands. However, ED officials have found that a large amount of money has changed hands in this matter. After a vigilance investigation was conducted on this, about 50 acres of land was illegally acquired. ED officials are continuing the investigation based on that report.

In the Bhoodan land matter itself, ED officials have issued notices to Amay Kumar, who previously served as the Ranga Reddy District Collector, and have questioned him several times. In addition, the ED has also issued notices to the MLAs and questioned them. After a long gap, the ED is again acting aggressively on the Bhoodan land matter.

The ED officials have also focused on those who bought plots and sold them to real estate companies, and those who bought Bhoodan lands and sold them to others. As part of this, searches are currently being conducted in the old city. ED officials are conducting searches in Yakutpura and Santosh Nagar areas.

Qadir Unnisa’s role is said to be very crucial in this case. Herfather had previously donated this 50 acres of land to the Bhoodan Board. In 2021, Qadir Unnisa came claiming to be her father’s heir and filed an application for the transfer of 50 acres. Immediately, the revenue officials registered 50 acres of land in the name of Qadir Unnisa on Agameghala.

At that time, the district collector, Amay Kumar, along with lower-level staff, in a hurry  transferred 50 acres of land in her name, without conducting any investigation. In this context, Qadir Unnisa and a few others divided the 50 acres of land into plots and sold it to many people. Public representatives have also purchased lands in this. It seems that IAS and IPS have also purchased lands.
