The MLC of BRS, Kalvakuntla Kavitha who was firm on not attending the ED’s questioning took a huge U-turn and made herself present in front of the officials on Monday. The grilling which went for hours together has reportedly uncovered a couple of facts.
Kavitha got summoned for the second time after the ED officials questioned her for the first time at her Delhi residence. Despite her Telangana card and protests along with sending her advocate citing her health issues, ED failed to allow her to have the second round at her residence and directed her to attend at any cost on Monday. The officials conducted thorough questioning for hours until the dark and called it a day. It was reportedly said that she was confronted with documentary evidence proving her link with the South Group and its chairman being her close associate. Also, the ED declared that the South Group chairman Arun Pillai declared that Kavitha was one of the representatives of the South Group which was associated with the Delhi Excise Scam.
The entire scam came into the limelight when the ED found out that this particular South Group won the Liquor tender and benefited hundreds of crores which was later kicked back to the AAP and the party used the huge black money in the Goa elections. Kavitha being a member of this South group made her a part of this case.
