DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao asserted that the Sunday-night fire mishap at Madanapalle RDO office was not a fire accident, but a conspiracy to destroy valuable records.
He rushed to Madanapalli along with CID chief Dr Ravishankar Ayyannar on the instructions of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to probe into the fire mishap and keenly observed the place for three hours on Monday.
Local leaders and Left parties are alleging that it was intended to burnt the record that exposes large scale land grabbing activities of former YCP minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. The fire mishap was reported at 11.30 PM at the RDP office on Sunday.
But, the DGP wondered why immediately the information was not given to district Collector or SP or DSP by the local revenue and police officials? He admitted that their negligence of duties is revealed.
Revenue Minister Angani Satyaprasad told the media that less than a week ago, it was revealed an application was made for land conversion in the name of Swarnalata, wife of former Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, and 986 acres of assigned land was given to Peddireddy Benamis, and these are going to be canceled soon.
It has been clarified that 90 percent of the important files burnt in the fire accident are in the computer and the burnt files will be retrieved. The minister said that some files were also lost in the law department. Minister Satyaprasad showed the documents to the media where the land conversion application was made in the name of Peddireddy’s wife. He alleged that it is clear that this incident seems to have been done intentionally.
DGP said that there was a fire incident in the room containing 22A land records in the RDO office and there are many suspicions about this incident which happened in the section where the important documents are kept. The DGP said that there is no possibility of a short circuit happening in the office.
It was explained that matchsticks were found outside the window of the RDO office and ten teams have been formed to investigate the incident. The DGP said that the negligence of revenue and police officials is visible in the Madanapalle fire incident. It was revealed that VRA was the only one at the scene and the higher authorities were not immediately informed about the incident.
Meanwhile, the presence of one employee of the office Goutham at on Sunday night at the RDO office gave suspicion. Police took him into custody and questioned him. Police also investigated mobiles used in that area at that time.
The DGP said that some files were burnt outside the office as well. The DGP said that similar files were burnt on Vijayawada Karakatta too.
