Deputy CM’s Two Wives Haunting YCP’s Prospects

Sunday, December 22, 2024

YSRCP chief and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is notorious for criticising his political opponent and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan referring to his number of marriages. Putting an end to ‘political decency’ he has been repeatedly raising his personal family issues in public meetings, attempting to gain sympathy of women voters.

But, Pawan Kalyan due to some unfortunate family reasons had taken diversoes legally and none of his former wife is making any accusation against him. But, CM Jagan is now locked in a delicate position with children of his own Deputy Chief Minister’s two wives are now on streets, quarrelling for the same seat. Thus harming the prospects of ruling party candidates.

Giving a big jolt to CI Jagan, children of the two wives of Deputy Chief Minister Budi Muthyal Naidu, a key leader of his own party, are now contesting against each other in the elections from Madugala assembly constituency. This family row is feared to spoil chances of the ruling party to win.

Presently, Muthyal Naidu is representing Madugula in the assembly. But, CM Jagan fielded him in the Lok Sabha elections from Anakapalli constituency, from where BJP’s former Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh is contesting, as the joint candidate of TDP, Jana Sena and BJP alliance.

As he is shifting to Lok Sabha polls, Naidu is fielding to the assembly in his place his second wife’s daughter Anuradha. She is presently K Kotapadu ZPTC. This development irked first wife’s son Ravi, who is claiming as son of first wife he is the ‘legal heir’ and he should represent his father’s assembly constituency.

He questioned his father’s wisdom in choosing second wife’s daughter in his place, claiming he is the real `successor’ of his father. Accusing that his father is doing injustice to him, he asserted that the time has come for him to assert his position in the family and decided to contest in the elections.

He filed nomination from Madugula constituency on Wednesday as an independent candidate and expressed confidence he can win in the elections. He said that he is capable of meeting people’s expectations and serving them better.

He cautioned voters not to be misled with the attractive schemes offered by political parties and suggested they should choose who can serve them better and who can be accessible to them. Accusing that some revenue officers are bowing down to the feet of YSRCP leaders, he cautioned that he would initiate legal action against such officers.
