Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been given a crucial new responsibility by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu. During a collectors’ meeting on Monday, CM Chandrababu reviewed various departmental initiatives. Officials from the agriculture, public distribution, aqua, fisheries, horticulture, and forest departments briefed the CM on programs planned for the next 100 days.
In the context of the forest department review, CM Chandrababu directed officials to significantly enhance the state’s forest wealth through large-scale tree planting. He tasked Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan with leading this extensive sapling plantation effort.
CM Chandrababu emphasized the goal of planting 5-10 lakh saplings at a time, drawing a parallel to a successful large-scale plantation drive previously undertaken in Hyderabad during the united Andhra Pradesh period. He encouraged everyone to aim for a greener environment, envisioning a future where they could enjoy a “vanabhojana” (forest feast) amidst the lush greenery.
During the meeting, officials also presented a detailed PowerPoint on the agriculture sector to CM Chandrababu, outlining key initiatives and future plans.
