Deaths of key witnesses In Vivekananda Reddy’s Murder case Reflects pattern of Paritala Ravi’s Murder

Investigation authorities are suspecting there are conspiracies to obstruct the judicial investigation in the sensational YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. They wonder if as many as six key witnesses were killed so that the names of the masterminds and conspirators behind Viveka’s murder do not come out?

It was more due to similar developments having taken place in the Paritala Ravi murder case, which was brutally murdered during the YS Rajasekhar Reddy regime. Recently, CM Chandrababu Naidu also mentioned the similarities in the two murder cases regarding the serial deaths of witnesses, which has become a topic of discussion.

Paritala Ravi was brutally murdered on January 24, 2005, just a few days after YS Rajasekhar Reddy came to power. The second accused in the case was killed in the Anantapur district jail on November 9, 2008. Officials announced that another prisoner, Omprakash, who was in the same cell as Seenu, had beaten him to death with a cement dumbbell.

When Moddu Seenu appeared in the Anantapur court in April 2007, he declared that he would atone for his sin by becoming an approver. He also said that the number of murders by the Chinna Basu faction in the state had increased and that he would reveal in court the names of the bigwigs who had helped in the murder. Shortly after, Seenu was killed in jail.

When the murder took place, both the Additional IGs of the Prisons Department were on a foreign tour and the District Jail Superintendent was on leave. To make matters worse, the Additional Superintendent in Charge, Varuna Reddy, sent Omprakash from another barracks to Moddu Seenu’s barracks. Within 15 days, Seenu was killed.

The main accused in the Ravi murder case is Maddelacheruvu Suri. He was brutally murdered in Yousufguda, Hyderabad on January 3, 2011. Gangster Aziz Reddy is accused of providing weapons for the murder of Paritala Ravi and of directly participating in the shooting and was killed in a police encounter under the jurisdiction of Jubilee Hills police station on May 1, 2008.

Moddu Seenu and approver Rammohan Reddy told the investigation that Aziz Reddy had provided them with weapons through Venkata Reddy. After a few years, Venkata Reddy was murdered, and Aziz Reddy was killed in an encounter. As a result, the crucial information about who provided the funds for the purchase of weapons did not come to light.

After the Paritala case investigation was handed over to the CBI, Mallikarjuna, who was an assistant in the team that conducted the re-postmortem of the body, also died under suspicious circumstances. He was promoted as having jumped off a train. There are allegations that there may be a conspiracy to suppress the facts revealed in the autopsy.

Before Ravi’s murder, Suri was in Cherlapally Jail in the Jubilee Hills bomb blast case. There are allegations that the then prison doctor, Dr. Sambasiva Rao, used to provide cell phones to Suri, and that Suri planned to kill Paritala by talking on them. A few years after the Ravi murder, Sambasiva Rao died under suspicious circumstances.

It was spread that he too committed suicide by jumping off a train. If Sambasiva Rao had been alive, more of the masterminds would have been exposed. Om Prakash, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Moddu Seenu in prison, died in Visakhapatnam Central Jail under the YSRCP government. The prison authorities announced that he died of kidney failure.
