Telugu Desam Party senior leader Bonda Umamaheswara Rao has accused that Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy has looted lands worth 2,000 crore with the support of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his relatives only.
He demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) should conduct a probe with a Special Investigation Team (SIT). He challenged Jawahar Reddy to release a whitepaper on allegations against his land transactions, if he is honest.
He deplored that there are clear evidence that by making use of GO 596 he had encroached upon the assigned Chief Secretary resorting to threatening those who exposed his irregularities in the form of defamation suit. He said that the ECI should intervene immediately in the land grab issue.
He said first Jawahar Reddy should be removed as Chief Secretary and the probe should be conducted by a panel headed by a sitting judge. He wondered that Jawahar Reddy is speaking like a politician against evidence on his land grabbing crimes.
He expressed concern that though complaints were made to the Chief Electoral Officer against Chief Secretary’s violation of code during election period, no action was initiated against him. He said he would submit a detailed complaint on Chief Secretaries irregularities to ECI.
Uma demanded that to seize all alleged D Form patta lands and the probe should include against Collector and all officers involved in this scam. Besides the Chief Secretary, he said his son, some elders in Tadepalli are also accused of land robbery together.
“Many complaints have been made to the Chief Electoral Officer about the abuse of power during the elections but to no avail. Since the Chief Electoral Officer’s response is not good, we are complaining to the Central Election Commission in Delhi about Chief Secretary’s act of irregularities”, he added.
He lamented that the Chief Secretary is blackmailing those who have made allegations demanding for investigation.
