Crucial decisions are underway for the development of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. It is said that authorities will float tenders to start construction work in the next two months. Besides, World Bank and ADB have approved a loan of ₹15,000 crore to this project. The focus of CRDA is on completing construction works that were delayed. Furthermore, the CRDA is preparing to recruit 30 consultants especially for the development of Amaravati. The works in Amaravati are progressing, and tenders for the same will be released soon.
The CRDA has initiated all processes for this project and is concentrating on completing all structures, if not completed. Tenders for these works are to be published next month. Additional project report by the CRDA on the loan taken for ₹15,000 crore from World Bank and ADB. More importantly, it is recommending the appointment of some consultants to finalize these projects. According to this, the CRDA is preparing to invite tenders for 30 consultants who would oversee a series of projects in the Amaravati region. The consultancy firms short-listed shall submit the Detailed Project Reports, and progress shall be based on that. The CRDA has already prepared all the ground work in order to appoint these consultants.
It has driven home the point that the process of selecting the consultants must be over even before the tenders are issued for the construction work. In addition to this, a preliminary budget for the consultant’s work has been prepared. The CRDA is geared to file an integrated report with the government outlining the procedure by which the consultants would be selected. After a step in that direction, the tender for the assignment will be floated. In some cases, preliminary clearances have already been granted to a couple of organizations that have had earlier experience in the region, including RV Associates and KMC Projects. To speed up the process, CRDA is working hard to finalize the selection of remaining consultants so that they can move swiftly on the tenders for construction.
