CPM State Secretary V. Srinivasa Rao has cautioned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that the Narendra Modi-led Center is conspiring to hijack TTD and bring it under its control. He warned that if this is not prevented, the Center will hijack all the temples in the state like Srisailam, Dwaraka Tirumala and Vijayawada Kanakadurga Temples.
Speaking at a state level farmers convention, held by Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham in Dwaraka Tirumala, he deplored that the Laddu problem in TTD is colored by religious passions. In addition to this, he alleged that the Center is trying to dominate the temples in the state. Stating that union ministers are talking in different tones, he accused the demand by BJP for a CBI probe as mischievous. According to him, the real intention was to take over control of such rich temples and loot their income of thousands of crores of rupees.
Srinivasa Rao lamented the row between various political parties in the state on this issue and said that it was a conspiracy to provoke religious tensions for political gains. He warned that politics of religion is very dangerous to the country.
The CPM leader said that he does not understand what Pawan Kalyan is saying about religion and dharma. He said that religious traditions should be respected by all, and in the same order, things like caste system, untouchability and discrimination between men and women should be opposed.
Stating that people are aware of how to worship God and how to preserve the sanctity of temples, he advised that political leaders in the state should not speak in such a way as to give opportunity to the Center to intervene and take hold over control of temples. He warned that they should not give a chance to transform AP into another UP.
He said that there is peace and harmony among the people in the state and they should not be spoiled and give opportunity for the spread of fanaticism.
